Holiday Cup Runneth Over

How many of us during this time of the year are overwhelmed?  We shamefully think we're not doing enough to show our warmest regards and regretfully...we are overwhelmed by everything we need to do to be the most amazing woman to those we love.  Ironically - our friends and family members knew we were just great during the last 365 days of the year...except for us.

Being a shop owner...I never expected that my customers wouldn't only keep me in business and buy wonderful things from 'my store'.  On top of that they continue their cause and bring me tidings of love, joy and gifts during their busy holiday.  I stop for just the most important moment and look into their eyes...guess who I see = ME!  They have let me in to their lives as much as I have with them.  'I know what color they like or don't like, the things that are more flattering, and we (the team) contact them when we think something fits their style?!' The funniest and warmest thing I can experience, is when they walk in and say 'Karen - aren't you going to buy this...it's totally you!'

Respect and kindness comes in so many packages.  Some days it's the sweetest woman telling me she's been diagnosed her Cancer for the third time in three years or a consignors sister coming by to tell me that her sister had come by the week before to see me for one last time and my store happened to be closed.  She passed two days later and she had only been given 3 months.

So as I have all these very memorable moments...my message also comes full circle:   we have joy, and heartfelt things that only remind us that this is what it is about.  Let your cup runneth over...whenever possible.  Hold her hand when she needs it to be held.  Stop and make that cup of tea so you can chat.  Take the time to look at yourself in his or her eyes and know that you are right there at that exact moment where you were meant to be.

Happy Holidays everyone and thanks to all of you for your complete and wonderful support!
